March 05, 2009 Freedom Alert:
When does standing up for biblical morality get you slandered as a hate group? When the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) defines hate as speaking the truth about homosexuality.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a liberal pro-homosexual legal group, has compiled a list of “hate groups” throughout America. According to their latest list of 926 hate groups, if you advocate for biblical righteousness you are lumped together with violent neo-Nazis and skinheads. This is slanderous on its face.
Fine Christian groups that work hard to protect biblical marriage have been demonized on the SPLC list. The only reason Christian organizations are labeled hate groups is because of their stance on traditional marriage, as defined in the Bible. There is absolutely nothing hateful about this. In fact, the opposite is true. If you will not speak the truth to those lost in homosexuality, or in any other sin, you are unloving.
SPLC does not even attempt to be fair about who they label hateful. For example, what about groups like Bash Back, a homosexual anarchist group that crashes churches and terrorizes its members? Are they on SPLC's hate list? Definitely not.
SPLC has a list of "hate incidents," mostly consisting of "flyers passed out" or "teenagers writing graffiti." But is the assault of young Christians in San Francisco this past November by a mob of homosexuals included? You guessed it, not a word. What about the attacks of churches throughout California in the wake of Proposition 8? Again, not listed. The SPLC is clearly a one-sided, agenda driven, group.
But what‘s even more frightening is the biased SPLC acts as consultants to law enforcement. On their website, SPLC describes conducting training of the law enforcement agencies on "tolerance." So, if you are an outspoken advocate of biblical values, you automatically become a “hate” suspect. Makes you wonder who will be next on their list?
Apparently the SPLC has no tolerance for Christians who speak and act in accordance with their faith. This is the typical, liberal kind of tolerance that is a one way street for those who oppose traditional Christian morality.
This brand of Christian bashing needs to be stopped. Sign our petition urging the SPLC to stop slandering Christians for their biblical point of view. SPLC’s attempt to label pro-family organizations "hate groups" must to be renounced.
Add your voice to ours and urge the Southern Poverty Law Center to stop their vicious attack on the reputation of Christians and issue an apology for their defamatory statements.
