Rifqa Bary is a seventeen year old Ohio teenager who fled her home when her father, a devout Muslim, threatened to kill her because she converted to Christianity.  Muslim honor killings are perpetrated on thousands of women every year.  

An Ohio family court last met in December to determine Rifqa’s fate. The court previously ordered Rifqa and her family to attend counseling together, but Rifqa has refused. So the Judge ordered Rifqa to seek individual counseling instead.

Rifqa has been isolated within the foster care system and isn’t even allowed to speak with a minister. The critical issue of Rifqa’s custody was postponed until tomorrow, Tuesday January 19th. It will be determined whether she will be returned to her family or not.

Please pray that Rifqa remains safe from all threats, and that the judge makes the correct decision.
