Dr. Gary Cass PrayingThanks to everyone who attended and prayed for the event in Boynton Beach, Florida on Sunday. Over 60 Christians attended the prayer vigil for the two slain Christian street ministers, Stephen Ocean and Tite (Titus) Sufra.

Family members of Stephen Ocean were present, including his mother, sister, and the mother of his expected child, due in 2 months, and other extended family members. Linda, Stephen’s sister, gave a moving eulogy, and shared about how dramatically transformed Stephen was as a result of becoming a Christian.

Linda OceanPat Mahoney, of the Christian Defense Coalition, and Pastor Mark Boykin, of Church for All Nations, participated in the prayer vigil along with Dr. Cass. Prayers were offered for the family, the community, and for the body of Christ, and that the deaths of these two young men would not be in vain.

The rally started in the Boynton Beach City Library parking lot, and then moved to the exact location where the two young men were murdered. Flowers were left as a tribute to the two young men.

This was the first time that Stephen’s mother had been to the actual site of the homicide, Flowers given in memorialand she was overwhelmed with grief even as the Christians there prayed and consoled the family.

An offering was also taken to bless the mother of Stephen’s expected son.

Dr. Cass sends out his deepest appreciation, “I want to thank the friends of CADC for allowing me to represent them at this most moving memorial prayer vigil. The Bible says that when the Holy Spirit comes upon us He will give us power to be witnesses for Christ unto death. Stephen Ocean and Tite Sufra have demonstrated that spiritual reality. I pray that we all will be challenged by their sacrifice and faithfulness to Christ, even unto death.”
