The Associated Press recently reported that Kagan argued for radical views during her time working with the Clinton administration. In a 1996 memo, Kagan argued that it would be unconstitutional to outright prohibit partial birth abortions. Kagan believed that a clause should be made for “adverse health consequences,” supporting vague-defined “emotional distress.” Kagan also supported euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide.
The Senate judiciary committee has requested documents Kagan wrote while working in the Clinton Administration’s justice department, but they refuse to hand over forty six thousand documents. Because Kagan has never been a judge, she has no published rulings and opinions to review, that’s why these documents are so critical. With her confirmation hearings only weeks away, it’s imperative these documents get to the Senate in time to be reviewed.
Kagan already has a forty seven percent unfavorable rating with the public, the strongest opposition of any recent nominee. We can stop this radical nominee to the Supreme Court, but we must act now. Kagan's Senate hearings are scheduled to take place at the end of this month.
TAKE ACTION:
Contact these Senators and urge that they oppose and filibuster Elena Kagan because of her extreme views.
