For 19 months Trevor wore a button that said one nation under God to show support of the country and the troops. During that time Trevor was a model employee and even won several awards. But after Trevor started reading his Bible during his lunch breaks, he was told that he’d have to remove his button but he refused. According to Home Depot he was fired because of his religious expression.
But recently employees participated in a Home Depot-sponsored gay pride parade and festival, and wore multiple buttons showing their support of the event. The Home Depot has said that when it comes to what homosexuals do or wear, they will not be prohibited “in any way.” This clear double-standard needs to be stopped.
